New gift - New me?

Walking around without looking into peoples eyes was a bit of a chalange.She was not sure why she did this,the chances of her eyes changing colour and making someone do her biding were slim.It turned out it didn't work with everyone,it did not work with a lot of slytherins and a couple of others.The only reason she could think is that it dod not work on pure bloods.
She was walking quickly through the school looking for Edward.Wanting to appologies for running away like that after she had blurted out some pretty out of the ordinary stuff,even for a wizard,and to tell him she had found her gift.She had looked everywhere,inside and the grounds outside,she then thought about looking back in the grounds but near the lake - she had not been there yet.So she turned around and made her way towards the lake...

Edward was standing silent his hands clasped behind his back as he lent back on the tree his eyes lookign over the lake, from the castle he was near invisible he changed his gaze "Come to aplogise" he stated "Aplogy accepted it was hardly your fault scared perhaps, you think i see you as mad? no. there is a fair amount you don't know about me, yet i can't tell you, it's my law if you like." he had only glanced to her the rest of the time he looked over the lake

As he spoke dhe for the first time looked at him the whole time.She felt confident,She felt like she felt before the headaches but even better
''First thing - yes,second - thanks but it was no excuse for running off,and not mad but diferent.Which i am.And i have a feeling that what i don't know has something to do with how your diferent.But i don't expect you to tell me,you obviously have your reason.I respect that.As i told you because i could not keep it to myself much longer,and you seem to be someone i can trust?''
After saying this she waited for an answer.Looking out at the lake,amazed by it's glistening beauty...

he glanced to her "i cannot tell you wheter you can or can't trust me, if you place trust in me i shan't abuse it," he shrugged and looked back over the lake "I can't tell you not that i won't i can't, rules, if you must"he bent and picked up a slim stone then he crouched and skipped it atleast 7 times across the water a new personal record

''well i do,Even if i have onlystarted to talk you yesterday.Your a good friend Edward.....good throw by the way!''
She though for a moment how to say this as quickly and simple as possible.Still lookng at the lake as though it had all the answers
''Last night.I found out what my gift is.And used it...twice.the first was an accident..second time,more of a tester to see if it worked.
I can make people do stuff.Tell them.....but not everyone,I don't think i can with pure bloods,because they're to much like me maybe.''she paused for a bit gazing towards the lake ''My eyes...they change when i do it.Kind of golden coulor,don't know why though,my brothers eyes didn't change.Look''
She turned towards him and concentrated.She could feel her eyes changing,geting warm,but not burning...

he looked to her and nodded acknowledging the compliment then he said "I see, your talented with the mind, telepathically in some ways, it may not work on many perhaps due to silver, silver often deadners such things, or as you say pure bloods maybe not, again also ones who are strong or weak minded," he suggested looking back over to the lake "again My..father is a Doctor who specialises in many things and he may be able to help you"

''Never thought of that.......could he help me controll it?'Im scared of looking into anyones eyes.incase something happens''
She looked down at the floor then back at the lake.And sat down on the gorund leaning on the tree
''How do you live with it? Knowing what everyone is thinking.Doesn't it bother you at all?''
She did not look at him.She did not feel the need to have to with Edward.With her other friends she would have to look at them whilst talking,and they would stare back as she talked

"he could if you wish his help i shall ask him and get back to you, as for me?" he sighed "you never learn to live with it, it's annoying and you have little space for your own thoughts, theres some, the ah..more intimate thoughts often the worse, i can block them out, but it would have to be constant attention and will power and even I don't have that much " he mused

''If he could...that would be great,thanks.Well im glad i can have my own thoughts,even if there's one person that knows some of mine aswell!''
She looked up at him.She could not see his face,he seemed calm.Never had she seen such a calm person before.She looked around her at the few passing students.Wondering what they were thinking.If Edward was listening in to their thoughts.Then asking politely
''If you don't mind me asking,but How did you get your gift?''

he turned his gaze to her "i can't tell you that unless i tell you the other part, which i'm not allowed but in terms i went through a chage, and alot happed my gift was one of them, " he shrugged then glanced to the passerbys "I can read there throught but i don't make a habbit, some are private, i only read the ones many scream out in there head they tend to be the most noticible"

''Ohh.right.Bigger changet than me obviously right! So i scream out my thoughts? I'll try and stop then...''
She sighed,as she was sleepy,and she wished she could talk to her brother about her gift.He knew her better than anyone ever could.He knew it and so did she.She looked back again at the lake
''Has Faith got a problem with me? It's just i get the feeling she doesn't.And if i've done anything to offend her,please tell her i'm sorry,I don't want to make enemies in this place.I have to many allready because of family history''
She simply carried on looking towards the lake,not thinking anything,she did not want Edward to have so many of other peoples thoughts in his head....

"it's okay to think you know, i have coped with it, it's not diffrence really "he shrugged and thought "Faith, hm i don't think she has anything against you know, she's one to easily get jelous" he stated looking over the lake, "a change is a change you simply accept it and move on, many things happen for a reason your gift was given to you for a reason, i can think of many ways in which alot of good can be done with your gift like mine, i use for good"

"i'm 18" he stated flatly and then turned to her now the lake lost it;s intrest in graceful and rather swift movments he was crouched and was before her "i realised you never told me your name, i know your Gryffindor, as for change good and bad yes, but it is only bad or good when one decides what to do after the change"

''you seem older,the way you act and talk - it's so mature for an 18 year old''
and when he crouched down infront of her she raised her head and for the first time she was level with him! not having to look up.

She looked at his eyes.And the colour reminded her of somethin
